IFS ChemicalsIFS Chemicals Ltd

IFS is a group of independent companies set up to provide a variety of polyurethane chemicals to a wide cross-section of industries, including the refrigeration, industrial insulation, automotive, marine and leisure industries. The holding company, IFS Chemicals Ltd, controls three subsidiary operating companies: International Polyurethanes Ltd, Industrial Foam Systems Ltd and Envirofoam Chemicals Ltd.

Dr Ken Kendall – Technical Director comments: “We wanted to improve the procedure by which we created Material Safety Data Sheets, mainly to ensure we keep current with legislation changes. A web search led us to ChemSoft, and a subsequent demonstration of their software at our premises convinced us that theirs was the system we should adopt.”

IFS Chemicals Ltd have been running ChemSoft EH&S since Autumn 2004 to produce their Safety Data Sheets, Labels and Transport Emergency Cards.

Ken comments further: “The software allows us to output high-quality Safety Data Sheets directly as .pdf format files, giving added security to the information contained in these documents.”

“Queries that have arisen have been answered well by ChemSoft’s Technical Support Department, either over the telephone or by e-mailed guidelines.”

“For an annual subscription we receive regular updates to the system, reflecting changes to the legislation that governs the creation of Safety Data Sheets. This handles our original prime requirement, and frees staff internally to concentrate on other issues.”

“We have been pleased with our decision to work with ChemSoft. I would recommend that anyone who writes Safety Data Sheets should contact ChemSoft for discussions and software demonstration.”

HANDL Solutions

In March 2005 HANDL Solutions were appointed the exclusive UK & Eire importer/distributor for No Skidding Products, a Canadian company specialising in the manufacture and distribution of anti-slip floor treatments and coatings for all floor surfaces.

Recognising that the North American Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) provided by No Skidding did not comply with UK and European regulatory requirements, Howard O’Brien, the Managing Director from HANDL Solutions found the answer to conformity through an introduction to the ChemSoft EH&S Software system.

Howard comments: “Our Safety Data Sheets are now clearly laid out and provide all the relevant safety and regulatory information required to meet latest EU legislation. We receive software updates in plenty of time to meet our obligations and the customer support service is very helpful, efficient and friendly.

“It is important to HANDL Solutions that we offer excellence as a responsible supplier and well laid out, accurate Safety Data Sheets are a major element of that”

“The ChemSoft software is straightforward to use and flexible enough to allow us to format the reports to give our clients accurate and up to date Safety Data Sheets. The on-going software updates also ensure that we keep pace with the latest regulations”.

HANDL Solutions have subsequently added the labelling module to ensure that label data reflects the information contained in their Safety Data Sheets.
